Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 17 weeks

Size of baby: 5.6 inches size of a sweet potato

Gender: We find out Monday

Maternity Clothes: Mostly pants, the shirt in the above picture is maternity but I only have three of them right now.

Weight gain: 8 lbs

Movement: Not yet, TMI --> every time I think I feel something it turns out to be gas :)

Sleep: I go to bed pretty early and get up at least two times to potty.

Symptoms: Morning sickness is still lingering around. It is getting better but definitely still there.

Cravings: Bacon this week, I also crave salads when I am at work.

Best moment this week: Getting to find out the sex on Monday! I just can't wait.

Swimming

Today was a big day, for the first time Caleb actullaly tried simming and did pretty good I might add. Over the past couple of weeks he has gone from only wanting to sit on the first to steps of the swimming pool, to finger walking around the edge (with a life jacket), to swimming in the middle ( with a life jacket), to jumping in (with a life jacket). And now today trying to swim like a big boy.

He could paddle for a about a second or two and then his little face started to sink. But we could not be more PROUD of him! He is growing up way to fast.

Sorry, I have been MIA. In the past two I have worked 108 hours! I am a crazy woman, but I am a sucker and can't say no when I am asked to work over time.

I wish I had more to update in...... This is pretty much how my work days go.

Work until 7:15ish pm.....

Get home around 8pm............

Eat dinner, take a shower, and go to bed! just to do it all over again.................

Aledo Win State!

This is a little late......but Aledo won State in Football for teh second year in a row!!! WAHHOOO GO ALEDO!!

This is a Cowboys Stadium, the faithful Aledo fans! There were alot of fans there! Plus the stadium is amazing!! the TV screen itself it MASSIVE!

Caleb's Big Boy Bike

So we finally got all of the Christmas decorations all taken down and put away, which gave me motivation to clean out the garage! Caleb helped out and when we were done we had enough room for him to ride his bike around.

This is the first time he has actually ridden his bike since his birthday when he got it. It was a little to big back in September, but now it fits him just right!

It makes me sad to see him riding it. He looks like such a BIG BOY. But I guess he has to grow up! :(

P.S. I think it is cute during his first turn you can ever so faintly hear him talking to himself saying "PUUUSSHH" too cute! Love him so much.

- that my house doesn't always (ok who am I kidding) EVER look like a magazine when you walk in.

- my three year old still sleeps with us some nights.

-that I am a working mom! and don't spend all my time with my son. If I did I would probably go crazy and my son would wind up scarred for life.

-that I get anxiety when my house/garage is disorganized. My husband thinks I am crazy! I hate clutter.

-that I am ADDICTED to trashy reality TV

-that I am a horrible speller. I have spell check!

-that I pretend the ladies on the blogs I read are my friends.

I got a text from my step mom today saying that my cousin's newborn son was in this hospital and had a breathing tube down his throat breathing for him. Me being the nurse I am immediately knew that was NOT a good sign.

I called my dad when I got off work for more information. (this is all second hand information but you get the picture) It all started about a two weeks ago the baby was congested so they took him to Cook's and were told the baby might have sleep apnea, and they needed to keep a close eye on him.

Well my cousin went to pick him up form my Aunt's house, she picked him up and he went limp. They started CPR and called 911! I am not sure what all is going on but I do know he is in ICU at cook's and still on a ventilator.

I can't imagine what my cousin must be going through..... I would be hysterical. She has two other little boys at home so I am sure she is feeling overwhelmed.

Prayers are greatly appreciated.

New Year Goals!

My goals for 2011, I tried to keep them realistic.

1. Start to blog more. I have been really bad since I started this blog. But I don't really have any more excuses.... I am out of school and don't plan on going back until 2012. Caleb isn't a baby any more so I really don't have an excuses. Plus I want to be able to look back and remember this when I am say 40.... Ugh that sounds so far away!

2. Hit the gym more. I am not putting pressure on myself to loose X number of pounds. I just want to go to the gym more. If I happen to loose wight in the process that is a bonus. I am pretty happy with the way I look, I just need to tone up more. I have come to terms that I will never be a size 2! Right now I dread going to the gym but once I leave I feel so much better!

3. Pay down our bills, I really hate using the word "debt". I plan on doing that by working overtime at work and cutting the fat in my spending.

4. Spending more time with my family!

That pretty much sums up my 2011 Goals.

Happy New Years Eve!

As I sit here I am thinking about what all 2010 has brought. It has been a pretty good year! Year in recap (all I can remember and my memory is not that great)

JANUARY

Started my final semester of nursing school.

FEBRUARY

I turned 24.

MARCH

My niece Kylie was born!

Celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary

We took Caleb to the Grapevine Depot to see and ride Thomas the Train. He had a blast! I think Caleb has a ~~major~~ slight obession with Thomas.

APRIL

Not much to report, I was to concentrated on finishing school!

MAY

I graduated from Nursing School! Go me!!! It was a long tough road, but totally worth it in the end.

JUNE

Started my internship in CVICU at a local DFW hospital. I love love love it! I am extremely blessed that I landed my dream job right out of nursing school. CVICU, Days, and an awesome group of people to work with.

We spend alot of time at the pool. Luckily my parents have a pool and they live close. Plus our subdivison has a community pool.

JULY

We spend July 4th out on Eagle Mountain Lake

We spent time and NeNe and PawPaws house. Caleb and Daddy had a great time fishing at "Caleb's Pond" It is stocked with blue gills and it is just perfect for Caleb! His paw paw is mighty proud! :)

AUGUST

After much discussion Matt and I decided to put our house on the market. We both have decent drive to work. Matt's drive is over 50 mile one way. We figured we would try to see how it would do on the market. Well, we are still on the market on this last day of 2010. The market is just not working with us right now. Luckily we don't have to sell we are more wanting to sell for convenience .

Matt turned 28.

We took Caleb and Drew to Great Wolf Lodge, they had a blast! It is so family friendly, I highly recommend going!

SEPTEMBER

Caleb turned 3.

OCTOBER

We took our annual trip to the State Fair. This year we actually took two trips one with just the three of us. And the other with Matt's parents. Matt and his family always went to the state fair when he was growing up so I am glad that we have started that tradition with Caleb as well.

Caleb was a police man for Halloween. He was soo cute! It was really fun this year, because 1. he could walk and didn't want to be held the entire time. 2. He was able to say "trick or treat" and people understand him.

NOVEMBER

Had a great Thanksgiving with family. Not much really went on. Spend alot of time cleaning house for showings and getting ready for our Disney trip.

DECEMBER

We took a family trip to Disney World. It was a blast and I can't wait to go back. I though Caleb's little heart was just going to explode with joy when he got to see the real life Mickey, Donald, Buzz Lightyear, Woody, and Jessie. I was so glad that Matt's parents were able to experience it with us.

Matt and I have both started new jobs that I think will definitely turn into careers. I am so ready to see what 2011 has to bring for our family.

Nothing new to really blog about. We leave for Disney World in a few days, so I am running around feeling very over whelmed trying to get things packed and in order for a week vacation. I have to pack for myself, Caleb, and Matt. This will be Caleb's first time on a plane, and out first time with a three year old on a plane. So I am trying to think about what to bring to keep him entertained things like

snacks
color and coloring books
movies to watch on our iPhones
Books

anything else..... I am up for suggestions. I am a little nervous about the plane ride. But I can't begin to explain how excited I am about going. I am looking forward to seeing the look on Caleb's face when he see the castle, Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear and I can't wait to buy Caleb his first set of ears. It is going to be so fun! I am sure I will have a TON of pictures and video when we get back!

Black Friday

I was scheduled to work on Black Friday and I was a little disappointed I wasn't going to get to go shopping. But to my surprise I was able to be put on call at work and made a MAJOR dent in my Christmas shopping! Caleb will have a very good Christmas this year! So far he is getting an iron man that walks and talks, an Imaginext Bat cave, a MobiGo and some fun clothes.





I need to get some more stocking stuffers and just a few more little things but Caleb is done for the most part. On the other hand Matt is so stinking hard to buy for. He won't give me any ideas as to what he would like. Me on the other hand have a little list and hope to get anything or all of it :)

Random thoughts running through my head

1. Keeping up with a three year old is very hard! I have my limits tested on a daily bases. My prayer recently is that God will give me the patience to deal with Caleb. I know this is just a phase that he is going through. I just can't imagine having a new born anytime soon.

2. Christmas is going to be so fun this year. Caleb is so into it! Which is a total change from the past two years. He loves Christmas music right now, he feel asleep listen to here comes Santa Clause on Matt's phone the other night. Sooo Cute. He tells me every day that Santa Clause is coming down the chimney and bring him toys. He also tells me that he is going to sit on Santa's lap and tell him that he is going to ask for an Iron man and Henry the train. Of course we have not been to see Santa, so we will have to see how he dose. But until then I am totally enjoying Christmas this year!

Oh and I almost forgot, I bought Caleb some Christmas PJ's this past week and he has worn them every night. The first night he wore them and loved them so much, that the next morning he won't take them off and asked to just get dressed over his PJ's. Too sweet.

3. Tom Hanks is one of my favorite actors!! He plays such a wide variety of characters. Love his movies!!! You've Got Mail, The Green Mile, Big, Angels and Demon's, Forrest Gump, Sleepless in Seattle, Cast Away, Toy Story, Turner and Hooch, etc. Love him!!!!

4. I think I am at peace if our house doesn't sell.

We took Caleb to see/ride Thomas the Train in Grapevine. Matt's parents came along for the day. Caleb loves is Nene and Pawpaw! It was such a fun filled day. Thomas was in downtown Grapevine, the day consisted of taking a ride on Thomas, then we spent the rest of our time there in a tent. In the tent there was about 10-15 tables set up with train track and all kinds of Thomas and friends, needless to say it was a ~~HUGE~~ little battle to get Caleb to leave.

So as of lately Caleb has had quite a ~~HUGE~~ little obsesion with trains! We got tickets to see Thomas the Train in Grapevine, but to warm Caleb up to riding an actual train we decided to ride the TRE. Caleb had a great time, but half way through the ride he got a little restless so we decided to get off and wait for the next train back to downtown FW.

Tay's 21st

So the it had been a really really really long time since I up dated my blog. But with nursing school in the final count down, I figured I would try to start getting better at updating. So here is what has been going.........

On January 3 my baby sister, Taylor, turned 21! We were all so excited to go out and celebrate with her! We started the night off at my dad's with all the sisters for dinner and cake. I was a really good time. We got ready to go to the Glass Cactus at the Gaylord to party the night away. Unfortunately, Erin couldn't come with us because she was 7 1/2 months pregnant but everyone was so glad that we were together at dad's. After dinner and cake we got ready, which was so nice because it brought back all the memories from growing up. Sharing make up and helping each other with hair.

It is just so crazy that we are all grown up with families or our own. It was good to just have time with only the sisters!

Once we got the Glass Cactus we started with night off with a round of shots and then drinks. I have to say that is was a little strange drinking with Taylor, I guess because she is the youngest and it means that we are all getting old

The cover band that night was Suede, and they are so GOOD!!!!!!! It was the second time I had seen them and it was just as good as the first. The first time we saw them was during Melody's bachelorette party, which also happened to be a The Glass Cactus. Suede plays a ton of music ranging from classic 80's through today! Let me just say they are so stinking good!

So Aledo is plays for the State Championship this Saturday. A couple of weeks ago Aledo played Stephenville at the new Cowboys Stadium. The game was so much fun, and so close. Aledo won in overtime! GO BEARCATS! Here are a few pictures from the game.

So Halloween was fun this year, Caleb actually like his costume. He was Buzz Lightyear! Go figure! My in laws came with us and man it sure was a good thing. Caleb did NOT want to walk. I think one of the first homes we went to scared him a little and from then on he didn't want to be put down. So we went with the flow and carried him. He was so cute saying 'trick treat'. He couldn't quite get the or in. He is so fun at the age.

September was a Very busy month for us. Caleb turned 2 on September 14. I just can't believe it! I still remember the day we found out we were pregnant. Time really does fly by. We were going to have his party at BearCat Park, but won't you know it, it was raining!!! I mean it was raining, from about Wednesday on. So we ended up having the party at our house again. He really seemed to enjoy it. So since it was his second birthday he had two cakes. One was an Elmo cupcake cake! I just loved it, thank you Wal-Mart :)

His second cake was a SpongeBob Square Pants cake. It was so cute too! Thank you NeNe for bringing it!

Let me just say Caleb is really loved! That boy racked in the presents! Which I am not complaining, I do have to say that two of his favorite gifts are in the picture below, the Buzz Lightyear PJ's that aunt tootie gave him. They are so cute the front looks like a Buzz, and they have "wings". Caleb run around the house with his arms out screaming " I fly! I fly!" He also loves his easel.

So school has been kicking my butt, two weeks down only six more to go, in Pediatrics. Then OB starts. I am really looking forward to MAY!!!! And speaking of OB, it seems like everyone I know is having babies! :) Kinda makes me want another baby soon, but then I am reminded how wonderful a two year old act.

The two pictures below are of sweet baby Dax. My uncle matt and Jen had their second son a little over a week ago. Dax Patrick Friedman. He is a little bruiser compared to his brother Drew :) He sure is sweet.

My sister, Amanda, also had a baby about three weeks ago. I am finally an Aunt. Chace Joseph Krebs! He was 9lbs even. He is so stinking sweet!! I forgot how small newborns are. Mom and baby are doing great.

And finally tonight we celebrated my grandpa's 65th birthday at Outback. It was really nice seeing everyone. And this again was another reminder of why we are waiting to have another baby. Caleb was good for about the first 30 minutes and then it all went down hill from there. He was running and yelling, and acting like a little turd! But I do love him! We just don't go out to eat anymore. :) But that is a good thing ................. (new posts to come)

I am sorry I have not been as good as I should have at posting, but it has been a crazy month! My sister, Amanda, had her baby boy, Chace. He is super oober cute. Matt and I had a adults only birthday get away. Schools started for me and Caleb moved to his new classroom. So needless to say we have been really busy. Oh and my uncle Matt is going to be welcoming to the world his second son on Friday. So excited, all these babies.............I might have a little bit og baby fever. But then I think I can give them back when they are crying and I get to have a full nights sleep.

Date Night

So Thursday after work Matt and I went to dinner and then to go see Legally Blonde the Musical. It was really nice getting dressed up and having a date night. We had dinner at our favorite restaurant Bob's Steak and Chophouse. I love their glazed carrot that comes with every meal! It is so stinking good!!! I had the fillet Minot, which is always very tender and to die for. As well as the glazed carrot and smashed potatoes.

Matt was in the mood for seafood so he ordered the shrimp scampi and the skillet potatoes. (I have to admit I ate his glazed carrot.) I have never had the skillet potatoes but, they lost me with the gravy the had on top of them.We were stuffed after dinner but against our better judgement we ordered chocolate mousse for dessert. If it had been a few degree cooler it would have been just like chocolate ice cream! It was divine but we couldn't finish it.

We had AWESOME seats at the musical! Six rows from the front and an aisle seat! Thank you Jonathan!! Even though we both had work the next morning and didn't get home until midnight, we had a really good time!!

I Love The Summer

This is one of the handsome guys I get to wake up to every morning. Caleb is really happy in the mornings. If I am working, it means Caleb has to get up at 5:45 am. He doesn't complain about it at all. He is ready to get dressed and go. But when I am not working it means he can sleep in (and so can mommy) We normally get up between 8:30 and 9. When I go in to get him he is awake and just keeping himself company in his bed. The picture above is from this morning. He had moved everything in his crib (pillow, 2 blankets, and a monkey) to the corner and was jumping up and down in bed. Luckily he has not learned to climb out of bed (YET).

Another, moment I couldn't help but capture was this above. Caleb has learned to open doors. We have baby proofed all the important doors. But he opened the linen closet door in our bathroom, which is were we keep Carson's food. He helped me feed the dog and then he promptly sat down and started hand feeding the dog. It was to cute to for words! I love love love him so much!

So Monday night was nothing unusual, I was home cooking dinner, Matt had picked up Caleb from school on his way home. So when the back door opened and I heard Matt say "give this to mama" I thought it was a picture he had made at school, or his progress note for the day. Needless to say I was so surprised when he handed me an iphone!

I had been bugging Matt for about the past week that I really wanted and iphone. I was looking on craigslist and ebay. Matt kept telling me that I should "wait to get one", "the one's that are already used are probably crap", etc etc. But the whole time he was already planning on getting me a new one! And I had no clue!

He normally tells me that I might have a surprise coming, and I pick and pick and pick until he finally tell me so I will quit bothering him. And then I feel bad because he wanted to surprise me and I didn't let him. Well I guess he got smart and didn't say anything. I was totally blown away and very happy!

Matt is such a good husband and father. Tomorrow we are going to go to the Dallas Summer Musical, Legally Blond. A couple of years ago we went to Wicked and it was amazing! I am really looking forward to it. I love getting to dress up and go out on the town. We don't do it very often so when it comes around I get really excited! Daniel is coming to watch Caleb, and I know they both will really enjoy it!

I am so exhausted. I had to work today which was a total beating! We were so busy. I can honestly say that I only sat down to have lunch and put orders in. It was non-stop most of the day. I think I pulled something in my back.

OK OK... enough feeling sorry for my self. I don't know if I have told you this before but I love love love Caleb. At this age he is just so stinking fun (and at times very difficult).

That being said, I had to put Caleb to bed hungry last night. :( I think it bothered me more than it did him. I wish I knew how to upload home movies to my computer. I would Post this great video that we caught of Caleb last night.

It all started when I turned of Toy Story so we could sit down and have dinner. He wanted nothing to do with that. He started screaming "mov, mov.....Buzz" he screamed that over and over. We explained that he could watch the movie once he finished dinner. But he continued to cry and throw a huge fit, this went on for about 25 minutes with no hope of him stopping.

So with that Matt and I bathed him and put him to bed, without dinner. :( I felt AWFUL. But, I know this is probably not the last time this is going to happen. Matt and I have a very long road of "parenthood" ahead of us.

Toy Story = Major Obession

So for about the past 2-3 weeks Caleb has wanted to only watch Toy Story or Toy Story 2. I am serious, he will not watch ANYTHING else. I am pretty sure Matt and I can repeat both movies word for word. It is really sad and I want to pull my hair out.

Since I am not in school and I only work 2 days a week Caleb and I have been spending alot of time together, which might I add I LOVE LOVE LOVE. But there is only so much we can do on a budget and when it is like 150 degrees outside. So I guess it is kind of my fault but still.

I can remember when Trey(lil bro) went through a phase where he watched the same movies over and over, but I swear he was way older then Caleb.

Caleb loves loves loves lawn mowers! Evertime we go in to the garage to leave he has to go over to the lawn mower and touch it. He then says "mow mow, I pull" He then procedes to touch the pull string to start the mower.

He imitates Matt when he mows. He fusses and fusses until we let him go out with Matt while he mows the lawn.

Matt jokes, he say "I bet in 12 years he will not want to mow, but rather we will have to make him."

First big boy party

A few weeks ago Caleb went to his first big boy birthday party. It was for Marcos, the son, of a couple in our Sunday school class.

We went to Little Gym. Caleb had a blast! He was climbing over all he blocks, holding our hand and walking across a balance beam, and flipping over a bar.

It was so fun to watch Matt and Caleb. Caleb would hang on to the bar, then Matt would sling his body over. Caleb would just laugh and giggle. It was a very enjoyable experience.

After the time was over in the gym, it was time for pizza, presents, and cake.

Even though Caleb was the littlest one there he had a blast. I still can't believe he will be two in two months. Time is flying by.

Mom's little helper

So Caleb has really been into helping. He wants to help us load the dishwasher, unload the dishwasher, fold clothes, feed the dog, but I think his favorite thing to help mom with is cooking.

He pushes a chair up to the counter, climbs up and say "help, please".
He loves to help pour and stir. We make muffins, jello, and the picture to the right is an oven bake dinner.

It is so cute to watch him, he is growing up way to fast. I am trying to soak up every moment that I spend with him. I just want to stop time because he is so fun at this age.

New look for the curtains!

So I have been reading home decorting blogs such as www.thehappyhomebody.blogspot.com, www.livingwithlindsay.blogspot.com, tehy gave me an idea to add curtain toppers in the living room. I made these before I took my sewing class so I used the no sew, hemming tape. For my first time I don't think they turned out too bad.

Taylor had a concert last night at Weatherford College. I must confess she was the best one out of the bunch! She looked amazing and sounded like an angel. I am so proud of her. Caleb also did really really well. I was worried that he was going to make a scene, but he sat happily in my dad's lap and watched the show. Towards the end of the concert he even fell asleep.

I have only been blogging since Aug. So I thought I would give my blog page a make over. I have to confess that I am still trying to learn how to make it fancy and cute ( I have a long way to go). Anyway the guys are asleep and I am enjoying my quite Saturday morning.

We are dedicating Caleb tomorrow at church. We should have around 20-25 people there. I am very excited. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would be a member, a full blown, going every Sunday, loving my Sunday school group, baptized active member at a Southern Baptist Church I would have asked if you were crazy. But it is funny how the Lord works. He gave me a HUGE wake up call. And now I could not be happier with my life. All I needed was HIM to lean on and allow to carry me through.

Since we are on the topic, please take a moment and pray that Stellan, MckMama and her entire family as they are going through this very trying time. I have posted a link to Stellan's prayer site. I follow his journey daily. Reading it makes me want to come home and just hold and hug and kiss Caleb all over. It also makes me want to priase the Lord for blessing Matt and I will a health baby.

Shower

Matt and I joined Travis Avenue Baptist Church today. We are so happy to have found a church home. We love it there. The people are so wonderful. We are in a great Sunday school class. It is amazing how the Lord works. We are very blessed to say the least.

Calen and Uncle Trey went trick or treating this year. :) We had so much fun. To bad Daddy wasn't there to enjoy it.

YEA!!!!! Daniel graduated with an associate degree in criminal justice for Trinity Valley Community College. Now we just need for him to get hired by a police department. I am so proud of him. Matt is really proud as well.

Now that Matt is in the academy he has to stay clean shaven. But I LOVE him with his goatee. Just when I was used to it he had to be clean shaven. What a bummer.

I feel so bad, I have not updated this thing since Thanksgiving! I guess with the crazyiness of the holidays............ anyway I will try to do better.

1. Matt is now working for the City of Dallas as a police officer
2. I am still in nursing school........ (come on MAY 2010)
3. Caleb is walking and talking and just a super sweet kiddo!

Matt and I have been attending Travis Avenue Baptist Church since Thanksgiving. We love it there. We will be joining this coming Sunday! Everyone is so nice and friendly. We love Bernie our Sunday school teacher. I am going to the Tuesday ladies bible study. Needless to say we have found our church home!

Chicken Lo Mien

We had chicken lo mien last night for dinner. Caleb loved it! He really liked the veggies. So much that he had double servings. After dinner he had to get another bath because the had noodles in his hair! At first he didn't really like me cleaning him up, but one daddy started making silly faces and taking pictures Caleb started posing for the camera! I just can't get enough of this kid!!

To say the least I am a bit overwhelmed right now. For those who don't know I started nursing school last Monday. I finished my first week!!! They threw so much information at us. Between the projects, check offs, clinicals, and exams I am asking my self what did I get my self into? I know that I will get threw this; I just need to take it one day at a time. I am blessed with a wonderful support system to help.

I am worried that I will be so focus on school that I am going to be neglecting my duties as a wife and mother. I don't want to miss any thing that Caleb does as he grows up. And I don't want Matt to feel ignored. I know that school is only temporary. Just remember to keep me and my family in your thought and prayers as we go throw this new adventure.

Matt is 26. On his actual birthday we went to get a couples massage and had dinner at Reata. It was really nice to have a night that we went out by ourselves. We also went to Texas De Brazil with his parents and brother later in the week.

I just can't resist post pictures of Caleb in the sink. It is his favorite time of the day. He really likes taking a bath in our garden bathtub, but there are some night that we put him in he sink because it is so much easier on our back! He love to splash around and chew on the rags and toys. Caleb is a handful now when it comes to changing a diaper or getting dressed. He is all over the changing table, getting up on all fours, and wanting to crawl ever where. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do!

I am so in love with my son. I just look at him and want to eat him up! I love him so much. my heart feels like it wants to just burst!! I am really blessed. A about 19 months ago I was thinking how in the world are we going to do this? I was in shock that I was pregnant. Now I wouldn't change a thing. I am madly in love with my husband, I have a son that I would die for, I am in nursing school, and living the life I have always dreamed of. It is funny how things seem to work themselves out and fall into place.

( I know that I worked but it was only 3 days aweek) I know life is going to get so crazy when I start school in two weeks. But I also know that it will fly by and I will be in and out in no time. Today is our 2 year anniversary. The time has just flown by. Now we have a baby, a house, matt is a nurse and I am starting nursing school in the fall. We are so blessed. Caleb has his first tooth bud coming through!!! I can't believe it. He is growing up TOOO fast!! Before we know it he will be loosing his first tooth. Last night at dinner he was acting really fussy, so I let him suck on a piece of ice. That sure did the trick, I am sure it felt good to him little gums. Guess we need to invest in some teething rings!!

As I am writing this, Caleb is just talking away. Here in about the past week he has found his voice. He has also started blowing bubbles with his drool, it is SOOOO stinking CUTE!!!!

Today is my birthday. Matt got me a Sony CyberShot camera that is AWESOME!! I have already been snapping pictures. I am sure Caleb appreciates the camera too, since he is the main thing I take pictures of.

Feeding Myself!

Well this will be my first attempt at writing on this blog. Out of nowhere this morning, Caleb reached up and grabbed his bottle while I was feeding him. He took it upon himself to hold the bottle all by himself for the rest of the time he was eating. When the nipple would get empty he would tilt the bottle back just like a big boy!! It's amazing how fast he is growing. I feel like I go to work and when I come home he has changed in another way. This time I was there and we caught some pictures. He's such a cute little boy and is growing up right in front of us.

I just feel so blessed. I have perfectly healthy baby, a loving husband, a good job, a brand new house and car. I am just humbled as I sit here thinking about how blessed beyond what I deserve.

I have been doing a lot of reading. Blogs, magzine articles, and websites about parenthood, and everthign that comes along with it. Today I have read 4 articles about miscarriages and stillborn birth. Matt and I are so blessed. I guess I am putting that out in the universe so I don't feel so guily about having Caleb.

I promise that my next blog will be more uplifting.

Peaches and Applesauce

Today we found out Caleb is not a big fan of peaches or applesauce. We started with applesauce. He had a few bites and then started gagging when I would try to give it to him. I have to admit it was really comical. Since he wasn't eating the applesauce I thought I wold try peaches, big mistake!!! The first spoon of peaches he was gagging and hacking like he was going to throw up. I tasted both and the apple sauce was OK, but I don't blame him for refusing the peaches.... they were disgusting. They were so bland I almost gagged.

I hope when he is a little older and has graduated to the 2nd step baby food he will like peaches and applesauce. It is really amusing watching him turn into a little person with his own likes and dislikes. Such as a pacifier, he will only take Avent pacifiers, which is the same brand his bottles are. Any other pacifier he spits out immediately. He also has a favorite toy on his toy bar, a sea horse, all the other toys he is interested in for a few minutes but that sea hose he could play with it for days.

Being a Home Owner

What the heck? Willow Park charges a 36.50 base rate for water. That is before we even use one drop of water. I think that is rediculous. But I guess that is just one of the pretty little perks we get for being a home owners.

On the subject of our home, I wish I could just blink and it would all be put together. Things have kind of come to a screeching halt since Matt has been working 6 days a week. But at least he is home every night. I am not looking forward to when he starts working nights. It is going to be very difficult.

Change of Subject: Caleb is the sweetest baby every!! He is getting so rollie. His little thighs and arms have creases all over them. When he smiles, which is all the time, it is nothing but gums and drool, it just melts my heart. I could just eat him up.

Sunday

Today we spent the day with Matt's parents. We had a nice lunch and spent the afternoon wandering around Cabel's. That place is HUGE! I can't wait until Caleb is older and can enjoy it, but I bet then I am going to be wishing he was a baby in a stroller again, so I won't have to worry about where he is or what he is getting into.

He is growing so fast!! It seems like yesterday we brought him home. And now he is rolling over and eating baby food! He loves his rice and bananas, later this week I am going to introduce him to veggies, hopefully he will like them unlike his daddy.

These next couple of weeks are going to be tough Matt is still working six days a week. Which is great because we can use the money but I miss seeing him as much. It is only for another couple of weeks so we can make it. I guess that is it for tonight Matt is ready to go to sleep.

I am a big fan of reading kellie rasberry's blog so I thought I would start one of my own.

Our first Christmas with Caleb was amazing. We enjoyed going to Matt's parents, my dad's and my mom's side of the family to show off Caleb. He is such a little ham bone! Everyone just couldn't get enough of him.

Matt and I had a pretty big Christmas too. We purchased our first home!!! I am so excited. 2007 was a big year for us, 1st annivasary, 1st baby, and 1st home! I can't wait to see what 2008 has in store for us. Hopefully nursing school for me. Well I guess that is it for my first blog!! I hope to keep this up to date so friends and family and keep up with our family!
